Maintenance
SUMMARY
Plan and perform a variety of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and carpentry duties in the
installation, repair and maintenance of the Center’s facilities and equipment, under the general
supervision of the Maintenance Manager
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
- Understands and complies with all rules and regulations.
- Understands thoroughly all procedures and regulations for Fire Safety, Bomb Threat and
Disaster Programs.
- Understands thoroughly the basic operation of the equipment within the facility.
- Conducts Preventative Maintenance Procedures on facility equipment.
- Undertakes minor repairs of plumbing and electrical nature on mechanical equipment.
- Understand when it is a better decision to seek advice from the Vice President of
Facilities Management where advanced mechanical knowledge is required.
- Assists the Vice president of Facilities Management or his assistant in making major
repairs.
- Records all pertinent information relating to Planned or Repair maintenance on the
proper log forms.
- Adheres to proper safety procedures while operating, repairing, testing or utilizing any
piece of equipment within the facility.
- Participates in continuing education classes relative to Engineering Maintenance.
- Attends and participates in all in-service training programs organized and conducted by
the Vice-President of Facilities Management.
- Communicates in an effective manner with all facility personnel, visitors or residents.
- Maintains an available schedule on off-duty hours for EMERGENCY calls to the facility.
- Maintains a clean, sanitary workstation that is in compliance with departmental
guidelines.
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize assigned tasks as needed.
(EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related
experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
